What this may mean for you
- What changed
- Personal care moved from the Independence contribution category to Clinical supports for contribution purposes. Approved personal care delivered from 1 October 2026 has no participant contribution when Support at Home funds are available.
- Who may be affected
- Support at Home participants assessed and approved for personal care with available funding. This is not a promise of eligibility, additional funding, service availability or a change to every service charge.
- When it applies
- The contribution change applies to approved personal care delivered from 1 October 2026, not earlier services. Contributions for other service types continue under their applicable rules.
- What this may mean
- Check that your statements and invoices reflect the change. The amount and type of care still depend on your approved support plan, available budget and arrangements with your provider.
- What to do next
- Ask your provider about the personal care service type, current statement and budget. Read the official My Aged Care notice or contact My Aged Care if you need clarification.
